My Hockey Journey

While I never made it to the NHL many people probably would not have imagined I had the career I did as an undersized defensemen.  For me, my journey was as much about learning the secrets to success as it was about playing the game I love.  I learned a lot about success on my journey!  I am retiring from the game due to a history of concussions that have forced me to "hang 'em up."
I like to say I have my doctorate in concussions through experience, as it plagued me most of my professional career.  I have a lot of knowledge and insight through experience and finding solutions for these debilitating injuries.  If you or anyone you know needs help please read as I have lots of information on this site to heal yourself from concussions.

Ironically, the first place I ever skated and first knew I wanted to get on the ice was the same place I first played professionally, Las Vegas, NV.  When my family moved from Las Vegas to Schenectady, NY they immediately signed me up to play hockey at 7 years old.  Quickly picking up the game, I started playing travel hockey in upstate NY.  At 11, my family moved again to Philadelphia, where I started playing for the Jr. Flyers AAA organization.  Playing for the Jr. Flyers for the rest of my youth hockey career and graduating high school I decided to pursue playing junior hockey.  I played junior hockey for 2 seasons with the Green Mountain Glades of the Eastern Junior Hockey League (a long time ago).  From juniors, I received a scholarship to play hockey at the Univ. of Mass.-Lowell, where I earned my degree in Finance.  After school, I played 8 years professionally all in the minor leagues and mostly in the AHL.  Including about 2 seasons with the Wranglers in Las Vegas, back where it all started, before playing hockey in Las Vegas was the cool thing to do!  I was never drafted and most people always thought I was too small to go very far.
 Personal Career Highlights & Awards

Winning
Winning is hard.  Sure I won championships as a kid, but never collegiately or professionally.  Trips to the Hockey East finals and ECHL finals, but no Cup!  Plenty of playoff runs in the AHL, but none to the end.  Winning ain't easy.  I hope everything on this site will help you hoist a cup one day, no matter what level you play!!!
